We are coming to the close of this five-month program.

YOU HAVE BEEN KEY TO MAKING THIS A SUCCESS.

As an Acorn Mentee you have put in the hard work, meeting with your mentor, following up on their advice, and implementing everything you could. When you have a hectic workplace, sometimes having to meet up with your mentor can be what you need to reframe your experiences, learn from difficulty, and start applying advice that can save you time (and energy).

NOW IS THE TIME TO REFLECT ON YOUR EXPERIENCES AS AN ACORN MENTEE. 

WHY? This program is coming to an end. 

Having a conversation with your mentor about what your future partnership will look like is not only good manners but a great way to understand what their mentoring capacity is into the future.

This conversation might be asking you to continue this mentoring partnership, or they might just thank you for support them over the past few months as you realise you're are too busy to continue.

We encourage you to think about what is a good fit for you and have an honest conversation with your Mentor.

Be clear on what you want:

  • Yes, you're happy to continue this partnership,
  • No, you are unable to continue
    • A. don’t have the time,
    • B. another reason altogether

This is a PERFECT time to also share what you have learnt, and what you have found to be super helpful. Trust me. Mentors LOVE hearing how they have made an impact.  Doing this in person (or on Skype/Phone) is perfect. While you're at it, make sure you grab a notepad (or card) and write them a note thanking them for their time.

Dear John,
Thank you so much for being an Acorn Mentor and for your advice on how I can better approach difficult conversations with my work colleagues. The tips and readings you shared allowed me to talk with Bogart and (as you know) things have really improved.
It has really helped me. I'm now loving my job more than ever and I can't thank you enough.
